Windows 7 Support Ending

If you haven't heard, Windows 7 support is ending. As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer issue free security updates.

Users can continue to receive extended support for updates, in which will cost will vary depending on the version you have. Windows 7 Enterprise customer will pay $25.00 per machine for the first year. This doubles to $50 per machine the second year, and then $100 per machine the third year.

If you have Windows 7 Pro, it will cost more. The first year of extended support will cost you $50 per machine the first year. The second year will cost you $100 per machine, and the third year will cost $200 per machine.

If you have Windows Home, you just plain out of luck.

Currently, Microsoft is still offering the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. So, unless you have some crazy reason to stay with Windows 7, you'd be wise to take advantage of the free upgrade.
